·Post-Doctorate: Institute of Latin American Studies, Columbia University in the City of New York, from September 2012 to August 2013. Research: “Industrial policy and competitive strategies: the case of worldwide steel industry" (English). 

·Post-Doctorate: Centre for Brazilian Studies, St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, from September 1998 to June 1999. Research: “Dimensions of the Strategy of Internationalization: the case of four steel groups (mini-mills)” (English). 

·Dr. in Economics: Institute of Economics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, from March 1993 to March 1998. Thesis: “Privatization and Market Structure in the World Steel Industry” (Portuguese). Supervisor: Prof. Dr. João Carlos Ferraz.

2. Awards:

 ·4th Edition of IBGC Award on Corporate Governance: first place in the professional category, in November 2006, organized by the Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute (IBGC), for the article “Corporate Governance, Internationalization and Off-Shores Companies: the case of Parlamat”, co-authored with Fagner Oliveira de Deus (Portuguese)   

 Banco Santos Fellow Research in Economics, 1998-99: first place in the contest carried out by Banco Santos, in July 1998, for the research project “Strategies of Internationalization in the World Steel Industry”
